established in the early 1900’s
About our family
We welcome you to experience the rustic elegance of The Hay Loft, southeastern Wisconsin’s wedding destination wedding barn venue.
Built in the early 1900’s, the Hay Loft is one of the largest free-standing barns in Wisconsin. The gorgeous warm, wooden interior and vaulted ceiling paired with the hand-cut stone exterior, make the Hay Loft more than just an “event venue.” Its simple, rustic, elegance makes for an unforgettable experience. One look and you will be able to envision the event you always dreamed of.
The Hay Loft has always been a family business built upon our values of hard work, honesty, respect and fun. Since 2016, our hard working team has used their unique set of skills to come together to make your wedding day perfect from start to finish. When you choose to have your wedding at The Hay Loft, you will truly be treated like an extended member of our family.
We look forward to meeting you!
The Otterstatter Family
Tim, Owner
Tim and his wife Joyce established The Hay Loft as a family business in 2016. Tim will be the friendly face during your tour of The Hay Loft when scheduled for a showing. You can count on him to answer any and all of your pre-booking questions. He also will be there the day of your wedding to help make sure all goes smoothly.
Joyce, Bar Manager
Joyce, Tim’s wife, keeps busy by keeping the cleanest bar in Jefferson county. She also creates fun signature cocktails which adds a fun and tasty experience for your guests. On all other days of the week you will find her attending to the most beautiful flowers on The Hay Loft’s Property which she grows and cares for herself.
Ben, Director of Operations
A more behind the scenes job for Ben, but arguably the most important. He will make sure the venue is set up on your day for maximum flow, space, and enjoyment. He is there the day of the wedding doing all the jobs no one sees to make the day what you need.
Marissa, Event Coordinator
You will first meet Marissa during a meeting, typically 30 days before the wedding. She will be the contact person for vendors arriving at the venue and directing them where to go. She will be your go-to girl for any questions on the Big Day.
Kelly, There When You Need Her
Recently married to Ben and new to the family, Kelly has helped fill in wherever and whatever the need may be. Typically behind the bar pouring drinks, she may also be pulled to help fill in other places. Important to note, her dance moves have made an appearance once or twice from behind the bar.
