About the couple

This adventurous couple had been mutual friends for a few years prior to making things official. It was 2019 when things got going. During a lake day out on a friend’s boat, Vanessa almost fell into the hole Ryan was digging with his feet. They were able to laugh it off and had a memorable day collecting all the seashells that were floating to the top of the water. That was just the beginning. They spent the rest of their summer on boat rides, motorcycle rides, and random adventures…the rest is history!

The engagement.

Ryan was very busy the weeks leading up to the engagement! He asked for Vanessa’s parents blessing, went ring shopping with their best friends, picked out the perfect rock at Vanessa’s aunt & uncle’s farm, and got the rock engraved. What rock you may ask? Well, on Valentine’s Day weekend February 2022, Ryan said he wanted to plan the first part of the day as a surprise. He said he wanted to walk along Lake Michigan in Milwaukee and take photos. That day the couple started walking along the water towards a lighthouse. Ryan stopped walking, got down on one knee, and directed Vanessa's attention toward the rocks. There she saw one rock engraved with “Vanessa will you marry me?” When Vanessa saw the rock, Ryan started saying a million beautiful things, and Vanessa said yes!

The Big day

Being the adventurous couple they are, Ryan and Vanessa had an intimate ceremony on September 12th, 2022, at Glacier National Park in Montana. It was a beautiful day that their close friends, family, and they will never forget. However, they still wanted to celebrate and have a party with all their friends back home. Their night was a party including lawn games, dancing, and even a surprise game of musical chairs! They had heard amazing things about the Hayloft, so they decided to check it out for themselves. Once they scheduled a tour and saw the venue in person, they fell in love! They thought the staff was incredible to work with and were accommodating.
