About the couple

Gardening, crafting, hiking – oh my! Anything outdoors is where this couple finds their happy place. Emily, Jacob, and their dog Trooper like to stay active and busy. Emily and Jacob lived in the same town and attended the same school growing up. However, it wasn’t until later after high school when they fell for one another. Their caring, loving, creative, and quirky personalities blended together perfectly, and their story began.

The engagement.

Emily and Jacob were embarking on a big adventure, their first road trip together. South Dakota was the destination. Once there, they headed to a state park for a day full of hiking, adventuring, and canoeing. While on the canoe enjoying the beauty all around them, Jacob asked Emily to turn around and there he was on not one but two knees! (for balance of course) Emily was so shocked she had to concentrate on not dropping the ring in the water! They couldn’t wait to start their lives together.

The Big day

Originally Emily and Jacob wanted an outdoor ceremony. Once they toured and chose The Hay Loft, they quickly fell in love with the interior of the barn. Mix that and the unpredictability of Wisconsin weather, this was the perfect venue choice. The Hay Loft was big and open enough for all their dreams of that day. Emily wanted a boho theme with burnt oranges, dusty blues, and sage greens. All said and done, the barn looked BEAUTIFUL!
